Furlo Gorge
With the establishment of the State Natural Reserve of the Furlo Gorge, the Province manages 3,600 acres of woods, meadows and pristine peaks, making it the third protected area that the province Pesaro and Urbino put under protection. Alongside the regional parks of San Bartolo (1,600 hectares) and Sasso Simone and Simoncello (5,000 hectares), was recently established the "State Nature Reserve Furlo".
A paradise, where the river Candigliano that creeps between the imposing cliffs of the gorge, where the suggestion of the landscape joins a prodigious natural wealth that boasts specimens of flora and fauna are indeed unique. Just think of the golden eagle, the peregrine falcon, the eagle owl, the woodpecker, the crag, the alpine swift and the chough. And then the Furlo live wolves, deer, wild boars.
The vegetation that covers the tops of the massif consists mainly of oak forests with oak, hornbeam, ash, maple, mountain ash. Very varied also the river habitat and riparian, as well as rich is the life that teems in the forests, pastures and bushes.
